Gloria Booth has owned Whitman Beach's diner for over thirty years. She knows almost everyone in town, and they know her — Glo from the diner, they call her. A constant, like the tides in the ocean or the town's annual bonfire. She's sensible and hardworking, and she's tired of it. She's deep in her "Bah, Humbug!" era, and not even the town's light festival — which promises a huge boost to her business — can get her in the spirit.

In the midst of it all lands Hank Burrows, a writer on assignment for a travel magazine. He's charming, handsome, and sees a Gloria no one else does. As they give in to their mutual attraction and stare down Hank's departure date, Glo begins to see a future filled with possibilities she'd long dismissed. The question is: does Hank see those things, too? Or is does the whole thing end with the holidays?

About Fee

FionaWren1439A344_2_edited_edited.jpg

Fee Randall started her career writing about the most Canadian of things — the Trans Canada Trail. Since then she's spent her days writing stories for corporate clients, non-profits, and herself. In 2024, she finally decided to share her stories with the world, bite the bullet, and become an indie author.

Fee's stories have always been Canadian at heart, but in the "Elbows Up" era, she's happy to add all the extra U's, the pesky re's, and the nostalgic CanCon references she can reasonably fit into a story without being obnoxious.

She lives in Calgary, Alberta with her partner, her son, and a lot of Dalmatian hair (the legacy of four spotted — and dearly departed — collaborators). When she's not writing, she's making things, railing against genAI on social media, and camping in the mountains.
